Queen of Events Grace Bondad Nicolas Brings Two Presidential Grandsons to Laguna: This Reunion for Food Is Laguna’s First and Pride!
Who could bring two presidential grandsons to Laguna for them to talk about food security, sustainability, and success?
Your guess is as good as ours!
Grace Bondad Nicolas, head honcho of multimedia events organizer TAG Media Group, no less than the Queen of Events herself.
“This is the first in Los Baños and maybe in Laguna, bringing these two grandsons of the presidents and highly successful entrepreneurs like Paco Magsaysay and Robert Laurel Yupangco is a pleasure,” Grace shared, ecstatic about this new achievement: another first in history!
Paco is the grandson of Ramon Magsaysay and Robert is the grandson of Jose P. Laurel.
This meeting is Laguna’s pride!
Presidential progeny share secrets to success
The ultra-successful and nation builders, Paco Magsaysay of Carmen’s Best Ice Cream and Robert Laurel Yupangco of the Yupangco Group of Companies, for the first time, attended and shared the same stage as speakers to members of the Los Baños Chamber of Commerce and Industry, business owners, and non-government organizations.
Grace, the brains behind the event and reunion serving as moderator, asked only two questions, how they bounced back and what are their best practices.
Robert and Paco shared the history of their companies, how they started and how they bounced back.
For Paco, “It’s about authenticity,” while for Robert, “Only Filipinos can love Filipinos.”
Paco and Robert are both serial entrepreneurs and ultra-successful in what they are doing.
On the one hand, Carmen’s Best Ice Cream was acquired by the MVP Group of Companies and now owns 51% of the company, which makes them the majority owners.
On the other hand, Robert owns 38 businesses that include five themed parks, restaurants, real estate, and financial institutions.
Collaboration with Mernel’s
“They shared valuable insights and strategies on how to be successful entrepreneurs. I’m grateful for the trust,” explained Grace.
“Moreso, I’m also grateful to Mernel’s for this collaboration,” she continued, citing collaboration with Laguna’s premier cake makers, Mernel’s, for the amazing feat.
Two entrepreneurs, who are both on the board of the Los Baños Chamber of Commerce and Industry, served as the heart and soul of the event: Merle Balicao of Mernel’s and Grace Bondad Nicolas of TAG Media Group.
The once-in-a-lifetime forum highlighted food sustainability as well as the challenges and successes of that these food industry leaders were able to hurdle and and, thus, to be emulated.
Two of Mernel’s suppliers, San Miguel Mills and Puratos, sent in representatives as speakers to share their company’s best practices.
One of these is Joey Garcia of Rairaiken Group of Companies.
For Joey, “It’s all about collaboration and innovation.”
Los Baños Chamber of Commerce and Industry Head Rommel Caranto gave the welcome address, while Mernel’s Marketing Head Ronald Calibo served as the Master of Ceremonies.
Merle Balicao, joined by husband Nelson and daughter Carmela, delivered the closing remarks.
