Kiwanis Club of Makati Goes Full Force to Celebrate Kiwanis One Day in Manila and Laguna

October 23, 2021 is a special day of giving celebrated globally as “Kiwanis One Day.”

On this day, all Kiwanians around the world conduct synchronous helping activities for the benefit of the less fortunate.

On this day, too, gorgeous Grace Bondad Nicolas—the newly elected Lieutenant Governor Elect for Division 3A, made up of clubs from Metro Manila—led all of Kiwanis Club of Makati’s officers and members came up with three activities, one in Manila and two in Laguna.

For the Manila activity, KC Makati members contributed in the joint pantry event in Manila headed by Lieutenant Governor Francis Villegas.

The event was attended by KC Makati’s PLG Dr. Elton See Tan, PLG Tan Yu III, Secretary Liza Ocampo, KW Hanna Rosales, and KW Joel Aquino with the support of AsiaPrime Philippines, Inc.

For the first Laguna activity, the event was held at Brgy. Mabacan, Calauan, with the support of Mernels headed by Merle Mendoza Balicao and GracefulSkin Essentials.

For the second Laguna activity, also held in Calauan, LGE Grace Bondad Nicolas with KW Remy Capili Bondad, JonJon Escaler, and Dess Bondad Escaler distributed rice and soap to 100 families.

This is the organization’s third outreach in this barangay.

“I’m always thankful to my parents for sharing their foundation to us. To help out. I remember my father, Josefino Bondad, told me that it’s better to give than to receive. While my mother, Remy Bondad keeps on sharing that it’s better that it’s you who is in the giving side. I’m always grateful and it’s human nature to help out. We will keep on doing this and we believe that in giving, you’ll receive more too. Might be in some ways, the universe will make a way as always,” shared the tireless and ever so gorgeous Grace Bondad Nicolas when asked about her constant inspiration.

Kiwanis International was established in 1915 at Detroit, Michigan.

Kiwanis International is a global community of clubs, members and partners dedicated to improving the lives of children one community at a time.

Today, we stand with more than 600,000 members from K-Kids to Key Club to Kiwanis and many ages in between in more than 80 countries.

Each community has different needs, and Kiwanis empowers members to pursue creative ways to serve the needs of children, such as fighting hunger, improving literacy and offering guidance.

Kiwanis clubs host nearly 150,000 service projects each year.
